Role of Healthcare Unit Manager (RN):

The Healthcare Unit Manager (RN) will manage nursing staff and coordinate activities related to nursing services during their assigned shifts. This position is essential for ensuring that patient care meets the standards of safety, efficiency, and the facility's established philosophy. The Healthcare Unit Manager (RN) also ensures smooth communication with other shifts to maintain continuity of care and will lead the team in the absence of the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) and Director of Nursing.

Responsibilities Include:

• Understanding and interpreting the facility’s policies and relevant state laws affecting nursing services.
• Taking part in the implementation of safety measures and protocols.
• Informing the ADON about nursing activities, challenges, and unusual occurrences.
• Suggesting the procurement of nursing supplies and equipment as needed.
• Performing regular checks on nursing staff, timekeeping, equipment, and materials.
• Making recommendations for hiring, promotions, or disciplinary actions regarding nursing personnel.
• Assisting in the planning and evaluation of in-service education programs.
• Investigating and reporting any complaints.
• Supervising daily activities in the absence of the charge nurse or assistant charge nurse.
