We are looking for a dedicated Substance Use Counselor to join our team! We are currently accepting applications for CASAC-Ts, CASAC-P, CASACs, MHCs, LMSWs, LCSWs, and LMFTs. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving abilities, experience working with diverse populations, and excellent organizational and documentation skills.

Qualifications:

Applicants must hold a CASAC-T, CASAC, MHC, LMSW, or LCSW certification.

Position Overview:

The counselor will be responsible for managing a caseload of patients within the program. Key duties include conducting intake assessments, providing orientation, developing treatment plans, offering individual and group counseling, coordinating care, and maintaining proper documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage and maintain a caseload of patients.
2. Conduct weekly individual and group counseling sessions (as assigned).
3. Perform assessments and intake procedures as required.
4. Assist in creating culturally and linguistically appropriate clinical treatment tracks to meet the needs of patients and their families.
5. Participate in weekly utilization reviews based on clinical and administrative protocols.
6. Contribute to monthly skills-based workshops related to chemical dependency.
7. Help review and distribute incident reports following established agency protocols.
8. Provide feedback for employee performance reviews when requested.
9. Support the preparation of weekly case conferences and case reviews.
10. Assist with the clinical discharge process.
11. Maintain a standard of 10 billable service units per day based on caseload.
12. Record individual patient data in NYC HRA STARS on a weekly/monthly basis.
13. Monitor patient toxicology testing.
14. Ensure a clean and organized work environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Per-diem

• 8-hour or 10-hour shifts
• 5 days a week, with one weekend day required

Location: Newfane, NY 14108 (15 minutes from Lockport, NY)

Experience: 1 year of addiction counseling (preferred)
