Job Overview

The Patient Care Unit Manager will oversee the nursing operations within our long-term care facility, ensuring the nursing program is administered in accordance with the highest standards and all regulatory requirements. Your leadership will help guide nursing staff to provide outstanding care and maintain a high level of quality.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the nursing staff to ensure adherence to care standards and quality improvement initiatives.
• Participate in clinical risk management by identifying and addressing potential risks.
• Ensure physicians' orders are communicated promptly and correctly to relevant departments.
• Oversee the delegation of nursing and therapeutic duties to nursing and support staff.
• Perform patient rounds to evaluate residents' physical conditions and behaviors, ensuring that care is delivered accurately and thoroughly documented.
• Lead incident investigations and submit accurate reports to nursing administration.
• Ensure compliance with infection control standards and proper handling of biohazard materials.

Qualifications

• Active RN license is required, with preference for candidates with experience in long-term care or geriatrics.
• CPR certification required.
• At least three years of nursing experience and a minimum of one year in a supervisory role.
• Strong planning, organizational, and leadership skills.
