Managing medication requisitions and administration is a critical aspect of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) duties. As a licensed nurse holding CPR certification, LPNs are required to work with physicians to ensure all medication administration policies are followed while adhering to the center's policies. Abnormal changes in residents’ condition should be reported to the relevant personnel immediately

• The healthcare team communicates with the resident and their family members to ensure that they are informed about the admissions, discharges, and transfers
• Medication needs addressed through collaborative efforts of pharmacy and doctors
• Medication administration
• Strict adherence to infection prevention, emergency management, and other center protocols is critical
• To achieve success in caring for residents, it is imperative to work collaboratively with their interdisciplinary team
• Alertness to small changes and paying attention to residents' unique needs are two important factors in detecting any abnormal changes in their condition

LPNs must have a strong foundation in anatomy, pharmacology, medical terminology, and patient care:

• To practice as an LPN, one must obtain a license from the State
• CPR Certification required
• Two years of nursing practice is a requirement that is highly recommended
