The primary responsibility of a Registered Nurse (RN) is to provide exceptional patient care, from administering medications to performing life-saving interventions:

• Implements nursing practices according to the standards set by the Nurse Practice Act, facility policies and procedures, and logical nursing reasoning.
• Evaluates, devises, and analyzes nursing care for patients or residents in need of long-term and rehabilitation care.
• Providing nursing services to patients and residents who require long-term or rehabilitative care.
• Executes the care plan for patients/residents and gauges the patient/resident's response.
• Guides and oversees the nursing team in administering patient care.
• Contributes to the development and assessment of accepted norms for patient treatment.
• Has the ability to understand and comprehend necessary documentation standards.
• Possesses knowledge and expertise in maintaining, setting up, and using various medical equipment such as infusion devices, monitors, and drain devices.
• Upholds the privacy and adheres to patient/resident rights, concerning any data pertaining to patients/residents/personnel.
• Offers education to patients, residents, caregivers, and family members when necessary and/or instructed.
• Demonstrates professional behavior and adheres to established unit and facility policies.
• Adheres to a schedule that includes rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.

The educational requirement for becoming a Registered Nurse (RN) is a nursing degree from an accredited institution:

• One of the essential requirements for becoming a registered nurse is having successfully completed an undergraduate nursing program.
• Candidates must possess at least one year of experience in medical/surgical nursing within either a hospital or long-term care facility. A preference will be given to those with experience in acute or critical care.
• A valid state (s) nursing license is required for this position.
